The DeGol Organization Timeline
1950-Bruno and Lena DeGol embark on their “journey,” purchasing a small masonry block plant in Gallitzin.
1959-DeGol Brothers Lumber is born. The DeGols remove the masonry block plant and begin to focus their attention on retailing of building materials.
1969-DeGol Brothers Lumber opens a second location in Hollidaysburg.
1972-Seven D Wholesale of Gallitzin is founded, offering wholesale distribution of building products to local retail lumber yards.
1975-DeGol Carpet is founded. Sells carpet and floor coverings to residential and commercial accounts serviced by the lumber yards.
1975-DeGol Lumber opens a third location in Bellwood, PA.
1978-DeGol Lumber opens a location in Patton, PA.
1980-Seven D Wholesale opens a location in Wernersville, PA, to served accounts in eastern PA and adjacent states.
1982-Scotch Valley Country Club is opened. Now recognized as one of the finest courses in PA.
1985-DeGol Lumber recognized as an industry leader, one of the top 500 lumber retailers in the country (and listed each year since).
1988-Establishment of Seven D Wholesale of Scranton, PA further expands markets.
1990-Seven D Industries’ Truss Division is formed. Offers specialized truss systems to the manufactured housing industry, and residential and commercial builders.
1990-Seven D Wholesale receives national recognition as one of the top 100 wholesalers of building products in the United States (and has been among the top 100 each year hence).
1991-DeGol Carpet acquires a 48,000 square foot building in Duncansville, PA, necessitated by increased sales.
1992-Seven D Wholesale of Hartford, Ct. is acquired. Seven D expands sales areas to become a regional distributor for Northeast.
1992-DeGol Organization establishes new headquarters in Altoona PA. Centralizes management and support operations.
1992-Seven D of Florida is founded. Offers comprehensive brokerage services of railcars and truckloads of building materials to accounts throughout the U. S.
1994-DeGol Aviation is founded. Offers charter air services to individual and corporate customers.
1994-Seven D Industries’ Window Division opens. Provides vinyl window products to dealers and commercial manufacturing accounts.
1994-The family creates the Bruno and Lena DeGol Family Foundation to further the philanthropic activities of the family.
1995-Bruno DeGol, Sr. recognized as Master Entrepreneur of Year for Western, PA by INC. magazine. First of many local and regional awards.
1996-Seven D Brokerage opens second office in Largo, Fl.
1996-DeGol Lumber acquires fifth branch, located in Martinsburg, PA.
1997-DeGol Jet Center is founded, with operations at Williamsport Regional Airport in Montoursville, PA.
1998-“D” Flight Center begins operation at DeGol Jet Center, offering flight instruction to novice and experienced pilots.
1999-Seven D Wholesale opens brokerage office in Greenville, SC.
1999-Seven D Wholesale recognized as thirtieth largest wholesale distributor of building products in the country (National Home Center News).
2000-Seven D Industries acquires manufacturing site in Huntingdon, PA. Houses additional production facility for the window and truss manufacturing operations.
2000-DeGol Organization celebrates fiftieth anniversary and looks forward to the future with renewed enthusiasm.
2002-Seven D Industries Window Division opens opperation at its new site in Huntingdon, PA.
2003-Seven D Industries purchases building in Altoona, begins making custom window units. D Shapes is the name of the new company.
2005-DeGol Brothers Lumber is reestablished as a more local retailer, closing yards in Gallitzin, Patton, and Martinsburg.
2005-DeGol Aviation acquires Citation Jet, opening more opportunities for its Charter Services.
2006-D Holdings, a real estate venture of the DeGol Family is formed. Their first purchase is the former Norfolk Southern Car Shops, located near Hollidaysburg. The 365 acre site is renamed DeGol Industrial Center.
2008-Seven D Truss and Window divisions relocate to newly remodeled site in DeGol Industrial Center, greatly increasing manufacturing capacity.
2009-Seven D Industries completes its consolidation, now with all three locations at the DeGol Industrial Center.
2009-Seven D Wholesale purchased large land tracts and relocates its distribution operations to Newmanstown, PA (from Wernersville) and Rocky Hill, CT (from Hartford).
